Nicky Starr is an ordinary "girl" in an extraordinary world. I studied broadcast journalism at the University of Southern California before moving back to Miami to study medicine. I aim to master preventive medicine and to participate in research programs that will further my understanding of Biomedicine. My career objectives are to become an oncologist, clinical professor and biomedical researcher. Currently, I study medicine fulltime (4th yr, yippee!) and work at a pediatric HIV/infectious disease clinic (partime). My hobbies include reading, quiet listening and blogging. Blogging offers me a way of escape from my reality, which often proves stressful and overwhelming. . Simply put, I am a professional health geek by day and a blogger by night.
